Body | Mind | Spirit | Environment
Principles for the BODY and our relationships with ourselves:
Principle 1
Food & Drink
To nourish our body with healthy food and drink
The main benefits of eating a healthy diet regularly are:
an increase in energy levels
clarity of mind and better focus/concentration
achieving a healthier weight
healthier tissues that make up the body, brain cells, muscles, bone etc.
a better functioning digestive system, (nutrients absorbed and utilised in your body and the waste eliminated in a timely fashion)
feeling more alive and full of vitality
Other big bonuses regularly include:
improvements in conditions such as asthma, eczema, arthritis, headaches, recurrent infections such as colds, throat infections etc. chronic fatigue and much more.
So what might a healthy diet look like in Health Creation?
Eat fruit and/or vegetables with each meal (whole pieces, homemade juice, or smoothies.
Make the move from white to brown:
white flour - brown flour
white rice - brown rice
white pasta - brown pasta
white crackers - oatcakes
There are many more for you to choose from and it's important for you to realise, the client makes the choice as to where to begin. What works best for them will give them the best chance of success in achieving their goal.
We also look at a good overview of:
nutritional information
how to change the way people eat?
what support will they require?
finding helpful information
recipes
wholefood shopping
an introductory meal plan
the sustainability of the food - it's important to ensure hunger pangs are not happening
cooking methods
equipment that may be needed
helpful supplements
Be the spark to start this change in your clients
Principle 2
Physical needs
Exercise, stretching, rest, relaxation and sexual fulfilment are all vital for Health Creation
This can include:
Aerobic Exercise - this can be a good walk that gets the heart rate raised as well as aerobic classes or activities in the gym or out running, cycling etc.
Stretching, posture and breathing exercises - such as yoga, tai chi, qi gong, pilates etc. The benefits of exercises like these are many and include cleaning and nourishing our tissues with the movement of blood and lymph. An under-exercised body is the perfect environment for cancer and degenerative diseases. An exercised body reverse aging in the body, makes the bones strong and resilient, far less prone to degeneration and osteoporosis.
Creative movement - brings joyful self-expression and can include - running dancing, climbing etc.
Sleep, rest and relaxation - these really are vital for Health Creation. It is the balance to our working day, think about activity, excitement, challenge, achievement - we will start running on empty unless we have the required rest, relaxation, letting go and regeneration. Removing stress and fear from the body and allowing the mind to unwind are all regularly required if we are to avoid panic attacks, anxiety, depression , muscular spasm and tension.
Sexual Fulfilment - this is a part of our core being. Relationships can become stale or dysfunctional or you may be living a Single life. In either way, your sexuality may not be fulfilled. This is an area that can bring great joy back into a relationship or allow a person to feel and live a more fulfilled life. Having intimacy in other ways as well can also be fulfilling - it’s all about balance.
Aches & Pains - can stop us living happy, fulfilled lives and this is where having a good network of other practitioners may be really helpful to your clients such as massage therapist, reflexologists, reiki, yoga instructors etc. They can still stay with you for mentoring but signposting is helpful in areas you are not trained in.
There are beautiful mediations and exercises included in the Health Creation programme for you to introduce to your clients
Build the rapport to engage with your client how they might feel physically
Principle 3
Detox
To free our body from toxic chemicals
The ability to clear toxins from our body and mind. Our cells, tissues and organs can also have more rest time when they are not fighting such a constant battle with the substances we put in and on our body.
Toxins may come in the form of pollution, household sprays/liquids/air fresheners/skincare products etc. They can also be heavy metals, other unseen chemicals in the air/water, food wrap etc. However, they can also be leftovers from the food we eat, if we eat too much carbohydrate we may have high levels of blood glucose - that can be a toxin. If we have high levels of animal fat in our diet, our body can struggle to know what to do or where to put it.
In the Health Creation programme there is a helpful list of various toxins and what health conditions they are related to. This can be a very useful resource both for you and for clients to read and understand what may be happening in their body and why.
Because it's written by Dr Rosy Daniel, it makes it more valid as it's not scare mongering like some articles that go viral these days, it's based in research.
It can be very easy to think, "I can't do anything about the level of pollution etc" we know we can but it can feel like an obstacle. However, when we bring it down to what we ourselves are putting in and on our body, it makes it more of a choice once we are educated in what these things do. Some of the toxins looked in the programme and their likely consequences include:
Alcohol - Liver failure, destruction of brain and nervous tissue etc
Smoking - Cancer relating to lung, throat, mouth, gullet and stomach. Asthma, bronchitis, arterial problems leading to heart disease.
Recreational Drugs - below are just some that are covered:
Cannabis: memory loss, depression,
Cocaine: paranoia and nasal defects,
Amphetamine: depression and psychosis,
Ecstasy: fluid imbalance leading to death,
Steroids for Muscle Building: Depression of body's own natural steroids and eventual weakening of muscles.
The Pill and HRT: Cancers of the breast, womb and ovaries, deep vein thrombosis.
EMFs: Potential for causing cancer.
Cooking by-products eg. barbecues, chargrilling: Cancers of the mouth, throat, gullet, stomach and colon.
Certain viruses: Cancers of the cervix, liver, leukaemia, lymphomas,
Being able to educate people or signpost them to additional help is really powerful in bringing about change in their body.
Again within the programme there are activities, information and further information on what we eat, how we eat, how much we eat, the emotional element of why we eat and the social environment of how we eat.
Detox is a large section within the programme because it can be so vital in bringing about future change. There are also planning activities to help you work with your clients.
Devise ways with your clients how they can detox
